Zurich wins Excellence Award for Training and Development
Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong) ("Zurich") proudly takes home the
Excellence Award for its "Zurich Oxygen" program, for the Award
in Excellence in Training and Development 2016 (Development
Category) organized by the Hong Kong Management
Association—fortifying the company's spotlight on people
development contributing to the ongoing enhancement of
organizational capability and performance.
Zurich has always persisted in nurturing and investing in its
people for them to flourish in their true talents. Zurich Oxygen
was piloted in April 2015 as a core management program, where
people managers become better equipped to enable their teams to
be at their best, to execute on strategy and to achieve business
objectives.
Zurich people managers should possess '8 Things Great People
Managers Do', including: provide direction and set objectives;
enable delivery and productivity; advise on technical skills and
processes; support and empower employees; provide feedback,
praise and recognition; coach and develop employees; show care
and concern for employees; listen, communicate, and build trust.
Upward feedbacks that people managers receive from their staff
allow them to identify their areas for improvement.
Since its inception, Zurich Oxygen has targeted 170 people
managers at all position levels with over 1,530 hours of
training. With this program, Zurich is poised to inject stronger
leadership to sustain itself as a world-class insurance company
for years to come.
